An accomplice of the Russian occupiers, which facilitated reconnaissance and sabotage groups, was detained in Kyiv. The man faces up to seven years in prison.

A resident of Shevchenkivskyy district, born in 1957, who had been previously convicted of property crimes, was detained. Criminal proceedings have started based on this fact.

"We conducted an urgent search of the detainee's residence. During the investigation, seven firearms were found and seized, including rifles with optical sights, more than 25 cold steel weapons, about 3,000 rounds of ammunition of various calibres, and automatic military weapons." said the head of the Police Department of Kyiv Shevchenkivskyy district Igor Padyuk.

Chevrons of occupying military formations, Soviet-era passports, as well as propaganda and military literature were confiscated from the saboteur.

The decision of declaring the man a suspect is currently being made. In addition, the Security Service of Ukraine is checking him for involvement in crimes against the foundations of the National Security of Ukraine.

Earlier in Kyiv police detained the man who left signs to the Russian military near the fire department.
