The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation summoned the US Ambassador in Moscow John Sullivan and handed him a note of protest. The reason was the words of President Joe Biden, who called Russian President Vladimir Putin a war criminal and a bloody dictator who is waging an immoral war against Ukraine.

The Russian Foreign Ministry stressed that such statements put Russian-American relations on the brink of rupture, reports TASS.

"The US ambassador is facing the issue of ensuring normal working conditions for Russian diplomatic missions in the United States," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

They warned the US ambassador that hostile actions against Russia would be "decisively and firmly repulsed".

Earlier, US officials refrained from allegations of war crimes in Ukraine. This was due to a special investigation initiated by the US State Department. Despite the ongoing investigation, White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki said that Biden's response was a reaction "to barbaric actions, horrific actions by a foreign dictator that take the lives of civilians".
