President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that Russia intends to push its war beyond Ukraine to other European states.
In an online speech to the Parliament of Sweden, the President noted that the purpose of the Russian government is to destroy freedom in all Europe.
"Today is exactly a month of the most terrible trial - a full-scale war which was set off by Russia against our country. Europe has not seen such a black month since World War II. It has not seen such destructions and such war crimes. The list of those who were killed reaches thousands. Dozens of cities and communities were destroyed," - Zelenskyy informed.
He added that Russian forces are bombing universities, kindergartens, schools. They captured two nuclear power plants, shooted two chemical plants. They used phosphorus bombs today.
"This is an attempt to conquer the whole nation. An attempt to make the neighboring state a slave," - said the President.
The Russian government decided that it could act as in times of totalitarian ideologies.
"If Ukraine did not stand, could not defend itself, it would mean losing everything you value. This would mean that all the neighbors of Russia are in danger, that you are in danger, because only the sea separates you from this aggressive policy. And Russian propagandists are already discussing how Russia occupies your island of Gotland," noted the President.
On this island, it is profitable for the Russian Federation to place its weapons to cover the attack on the Baltic States.
"Russia set off war against Ukraine, because it expects to go further to Europe. He expects to destroy freedom further in Europe," - highlighted the President.
Zelenskyy also talked about a new project to support Ukraine and suggested that Sweden supervises any region or city of choice.
The President also thanked Sweden for its sincere support.
"We are together in our anti-war coalition. And we must do everything for Russia to seek peace. Sweden has made a historic decision to provide Ukraine with weapons - we are grateful to you. For your foresight.,"- added the President.
He noted that for establishing the peace, sanctions packages against the Russian Federation should be applied weekly.
"Not a barrel of Russian oil. No entry of Russian watercrafts into your ports, no taxes of Russia. Their military machine should be left without a livelihood," - noted the President.
Earlier, today Volodymyr Zelenskyy also spoke at the NATO summit. He urged the Alliance to provide Ukraine with 1% of its aircrafts and 1% of tanks so that Ukraine could restrain Russia. The President stressed that the Russian Federation is going to push its war further into Europe.
