A video from Makariv, an urban-type settlement in the Kyiv region that is constantly under enemy bombardment, has been published on the YouTube channel of the Ukrainian Witness project. The residents said on camera how they cope with such difficult conditions.

The Makariv urban-type settlement in the Kyiv region still suffers from daily Russian bombing. People cannot move along the streets because a rocket can fall and explode near them at any moment.

"I can't go anywhere because of all these bombings in Makariv… You come outside in the morning and see a burning house 200 meters away. You turn there, and there is one more burning house," said a village resident.

Most of the houses and shops have already been destroyed, and the wiring in the bakery building is very badly damaged. There are huge pits from explosions on the roads and gardens, and fragments of glass and furniture are scattered around the destroyed houses. Fortunately, the two churches remained intact: "As people say, God is protecting them," said the resident.

Residents listen to the news and up-to-date information about the events on the radio. "I'm just listening to the news about Mariupol… that 90% of the buildings have been destroyed. They say the locals can't even bury their dead. It's a tragedy," said the local.

People die from explosions in the village streets because Russia is bombing the whole territory, regardless of what is there.

"An acquaintance who lives down the street said that his daughter had been killed. She was walking over there when the shell hit the bridge," the man said.

There is no place to bury dead relatives and acquaintances because the cemetery, as well as the village, is constantly bombed, so the residents make graves in the gardens near the houses.

"We have a lot of people buried here in the garden… There is no chance to go to the cemetery. It's dangerous there, so we bury dead in the garden," said the resident of Makariv.

The Ukrainian Witness project regularly posts video content with the consequences of Russian aggression.
