Music festival KharkivMusicFest-2022 opened at one of the platforms in the Kharkiv subway. Organizers called the musicians’ performance “Concert among explosions”.
This information came from Kharkiv City Council.
“String quartet performed for citizens of Kharkiv music pieces by Bach, Schubert, Dvorjak, Skoryk, as well as arrangements of Ukrainian folk songs written by a young Kharkiv composer and conductor Volodymyr Boratyryov,” - the notification said.
City Mayor Igor Terekhov indicated that Kharkiv residents planned to hold this festival in a completely different way a month ago. According to him, today's event showed that citizens believe in a peaceful future, are very united and are on the right track.
"Kharkiv has proved that a peaceful city together with the military and defense can take up arms and defend their homeland. I am proud of each of you! You are all heroes! Our soldiers defend Kharkiv and give up their lives for the freedom of Ukraine, the freedom of our children and in memory of our parents. In difficult conditions, we are forging victory together and we believe in it. Ukraine will definitely prevail!" - said Terekhov.
As a reminder, Russian forces shelled the residential buildings of Osnovyanskyy district of Kharkiv on March 25, and 5 civilians died as a result.
Also, Russian military forces shelled and damaged the Holokost memorial not far from Kharkiv called Drobytsky Yar.
