Ukraine's defense forces are developing a counteroffensive in the areas of the Kyiv region occupied by Russia. This was announced by the Deputy Chief of Command of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Olexandr Hruzevych, writes "Liga".
He announced "good news" in the near future.
"Good news is waiting for us in the near future. And believe me, they will follow. I know that you are worried a lot about Bucha, Vyshgorod ... Vyshgorod is already ours, under control. In the near future, as I said, we will have very very good news," said the brigadier general, noting that the defense forces "already have success in many areas."
He added that he did not want to rush because "taking and keeping under control are different things", but announced the approximate time of the coming news - "a day or two".
"Another day or two - and we will know, see a great picture and continue to develop success," he said.
Meanwhile, Hruzevych stressed, that we shouldn’t be over optimistic, as "there is still enough enemy forces around Kyiv to attack or try to attack." Most of all, he added, missile strikes, which are increasing every day.
"The air defense forces are ready, we are shooting down most of the missiles. The enemy aircraft is afraid to enter the zone of destruction by our Air Forces. <...> I want to assure everyone that there will be no enemy in Kyiv. At least alive. Not to worry," said the general.
On 28 March the Ukrainian military liberated Irpin. After that, the General Staff announced a partial withdrawal of Russian troops from the Kiev direction.
