Russia verbally agreed to all of Ukraine's proposals during negotiations, except for Crimea

During the negotiations, russia's representatives verbally stated that they did not reject Ukraine's proposals made at the Istanbul meeting. The exception is the issue of Crimea, the head of the negotiators, the leader of the "Servant of the People" faction David Arahamiya said on TV.

Written confirmation of russia's readiness to work with Ukraine's proposals is currently awaited.

Arahamiya noted that the meeting of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky with putin should take place in Turkey, probably in Istanbul. Turkey reaffirms its readiness to hold these negotiations.

In negotiations with russia, the Ukrainian side proposes to resolve the status of Crimea through bilateral negotiations for no longer than 15 years. The possibility of a military solution is excluded.

At the same time, putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Crimea would not be the subject of negotiations with Ukraine, because the occupying state considers the Ukrainian land seized in 2014 its own.

A member of the negotiating team, people's deputy Rustam Umerov, said that the Ukrainian and russian delegations were already discussing Crimea. Russia has refused to raise this issue for 8 years since the annexation.

According to another negotiator, Mykhailo Podoliak, the results of the meeting in Istanbul are legal guarantees that provide a new security framework for Ukraine (similar to NATO's fifth article), return of Crimea to the negotiating agenda, proof of Ukrainian statehood, start revising global security principles. and the role of institutions.
