Ukraine is waiting for quick and concrete results on the accelerated procedure of joining the EU. This was announced during a conversation with the Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Matti Maasikas, Deputy Head of the President's Office Ihor Zhovkva.
"Several months taken by the European Commission to prepare an opinion on Ukraine's compliance with the Copenhagen criteria are coming to an end," he said.
The parties also discussed the forthcoming visit of European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and High High Representative Josep Borrell to Kyiv. According to Zhovkva, this visit, in addition to its symbolic significance, must have a concrete result.
"These are new sanctions that will have a real and immediate impact on russia; significant financial support (of Ukraine) within the Solidarity Trust Fund; much-needed humanitarian aid," Mr Zhovkva said.
