In the liberated Bucha in the Kyiv region, 163 locals killed by the russian occupiers have been identified. A total of 320 civilians were killed during the occupation.
Bucha Mayor Anatoliy Fedoruk reported this in an interview with the Voice of America.
“To date, we have been able to identify the 163 dead. These citizens of our town were cynically killed and brutally tortured by the russians. We know last names, first names, patronymics, where they lived, and who they were: fathers, sons, wives, and their families,” Fedoruk said.
According to him, at the moment, they have collected about 320 bodies of Bucha residents killed by the russian occupiers.
“Two more bodies were found shot in the village of Lubyanka. And six bodies were found in the village of Zdvyzhivka, Bucha community. And every day, we find more and more bodies of the dead in different parts of our town - in gardens, parks, and playgrounds for children. These are additional bodies to those that the media have already covered,” the mayor explained.
Fedoruk added: till the last moment, he had hoped that the rules and traditions of military actions would be somehow observed in this full-scale war. But what he saw struck him.
“We started making rounds to examine the town on April 1. At first, we walked over the railway crossing, looked at the damaged houses, and saw the burnt equipment. We reached the intersection of Vokzalna and Yablonska streets and saw the bodies of twenty civilians killed, with their hands tied. And it was evident that they lay there longer than one day because dogs began eating some of the bodies. And one day later, we found out that in the children’s camp “Radiant” in the residential district “Mlynniki” there was a so-called headquarters of the russians. There, in the basement, we have found five young people [killed] with their hands tied. A large number of people were shot in the streets. And [they died] not from debris, not from mortars, but from bullet wounds, meaning that these people were shot with machine guns,” said Anatoliy Fedoruk.
Earlier in Bucha, looters were detained who cooperated with the occupiers and gave them the addresses of wealthy apartments.
