4,532 people were evacuated via humanitarian corridors on 9 April 2022. 3,425 people were evacuated from Mariupol to Berdiansk by their own transport and then to Zaporizhzhia by bus, informed the Presidential Office.

3,233 people left the towns in the Zaporizhzhia region: Polohiv, Vasylivky, Berdiansk, Tokmak, Melitopol, and Enerhodar.

‘’We have also succeeded in liberating the seized buses and to evacuate people from Mariupol. Zaporizhzhia hosted 529 of its dwellers,” says the statement.

The evacuation buses from Berdiansk, Tokmak, and Enerhodar had to return to Zaporizhzhia because the occupiers refused to let them go the way it was previously agreed. Tomorrow there will be one more try to reach these cities for our citizens’ evacuation.

578 people from Lysychansk, Severodonetsk, Rubizhne, Kreminna, and Popasna of the Luhansk region succeeded to be evacuated.

Earlier, there was an agreement on 10 corridors for evacuation today. First of all, there is an appeal for dwellers of the Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions to leave. These directions may become the scene for an even bigger escalation of the conflict by the Russians.

The information about agreed corridors for tomorrow will be published in the morning.
