Prosecutor General’s Office: 1222 residents were killed in the Kyiv region

The occupants destroyed Borodyanka, although there were no military facilities in the town.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the death of 1222 residents at the hands of the russian occupants in the Kyiv region has been confirmed.

The Prosecutor GeneralIryna Venediktova said it in her interview for the Sky News TV channel.

“As on 10 April, we have found bodies of 1222 residents who were killed during russian occupation of the Kyiv region. And it is just data for the Kyiv region.”

Venediktova added that the occupants destroyed Borodyanka, although the city had no military facilities and military units at all. According to her, the Prosecutor General’s Office commenced 56 criminal proceedings on charges stipulated by the Criminal code in relation to war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Since the large-scale war of Russia on Ukraine began, the law enforcement agencies have commenced over 4200 judicial proceedings on charges of violation of laws and customs of the war. 

According to local authorities, the russians have almost completely destroyed Borodyanka, approximately 200 residents went missing.
