Official Chisinau refused to sell MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine, explaining that it "does not want to irritate Russia."
This was reported by "Europeiska Pravda".
"According to official information, the planes are in good condition but have not taken off for a long time. The Moldovan authorities have announced a tender for their sale several times, but none of them was successful," - says the statement.
According to the publication, Chisinau owns six MiGs-29; initially, there were 30 of them, but most aircraft were bought by the United States basically immediately after Moldova proclaimed its independence.
Moldova accused Russia of trying to recruit its citizens to the war.
