Ukraine should be provided with ongoing financial support from partners.
Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Kristalina Georgieva announced on Twitter following a telephone conversation with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on Sunday, 17 April 2022.
"Continued economic support by Ukraine’s partners is essential to lay the foundations for rebuilding a modern competitive Ukraine," - she wrote.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he discussed with the Managing Director of the IMF the process of ensuring Ukraine's financial stability and preparations for post-war reconstruction.
"I spoke today with the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Kristalina Georgieva. [We talked about] the process of ensuring Ukraine's financial stability and preparing for the reconstruction of our country after the war. They discussed specific areas of possible cooperation with the IMF in the near future and in the next few years. I am confident that the progress in our relationship with the fund will be significant," the President of Ukraine wrote.
