The Russian occupiers continue to attack peaceful Ukrainian cities with bombs, missiles, and artillery.

On 17 April 2022, the Air Defense Forces of the Air, Ground, and Assault Forces hit at least five air targets of the Russian occupiers.

This was reported by the Command of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On 17 April 2022, air defense units of the Air Forces and the Ground Forces destroyed five air targets: 1 aircraft (fighter, type "Su"), three helicopters (two Mi-24 and one Ka-52), and 1 UAV (Orlan-10).

The Air Forces fighters continue to patrol the airspace, fly cover of the ground forces, and strike aircraft launching missiles and bombs on occupying forces.

On 17 April 2022, it became known that, in the Kharkiv region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down a Russian Ka-52 helicopter using the Igla anti-aircraft missile system.
