The U.S. will provide wide economic, military, and humanitarian support to Ukraine and will stand side by side with their ally until russia is defeated.
The House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi stated that following her visit to Kyiv, cited by The New York Times.
"America stands with Ukraine until victory is won," Nancy Pelosi said, adding that the U.S. would not be deterred by Kremlin's threats.
She also mentioned being moved by her encounter with the wartime President of Ukraine, calling him "dazzling", and their three-hour meeting "a remarkable master class of leadership".
The chairman of the House's Foreign Affairs Committee Gregory W. Meeks, in his turn, said that the United States would work with allies to refine and expand sanctions to put more pressure on Moscow.
"Nothing is going to decrease," he said, "everything is going to increase. And, if Moscow dares to use chemical or nuclear weapons, nothing will stop us."
The chairman of the Intelligence Committee, Adam B. Schiff of California, noted that he was "in awe of what the Ukrainians have been able to achieve" while beating back Russia’s attempts to seize Kyiv and denying Moscow’s better-equipped forces their victory.
"We are proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine. And we will until victory is won," he said.
Representative Jason Crow, a former Army Ranger, said he had come to Ukraine for 3 issues – "weapons, weapons, and weapons".
"We have to make sure the Ukrainians have what they need to win,” he said. But the visit was also aimed to send a clear message that the U.S. is not interested in a stalemate or going back to the status quo.
The House of Representatives delegation's visit took place only a week after the U.S. State Secretary Anthony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin visited Ukraine.
President of the U.S. Joe Biden on 28 April asked Congress for 33bn dollars of additional urgent support for Ukraine.
