Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba discussed with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken the imposition of new sanctions against russia. This was announced by the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry on his Twitter page.
Kuleba assures: new US sanctions against russia are already "on the way".
“On Remembrance and Reconciliation Day, Victory Day in Europe, we coordinated steps with Secretary of State Blinken to bring Ukraine closer to victory. New tough US sanctions against russia are on the way. We discussed ways to unblock Ukraine's food exports and ensure global food security”, the minister wrote.
Earlier, on May 8, the United States returned its diplomats to the embassy in Kyiv. The embassy is opening after more than three months of evacuation to Poland.
US President Joe Biden is due to appoint an ambassador to Ukraine in the near future. It will be Bridget Brink, who previously headed the diplomatic mission in Slovakia.
