“Ukrainian Witness” spoke with the serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Natalka Borysovska, who has been in the ranks of defenders of Ukraine for 13 years.
She first wore a military uniform in 2009, when she was 20 years old.
When asked why she decided to link her life with the service, she said: she once watched a military film, was inspired by soldiers, and later told her father that she would join the army.
From 2009 Natalka Borysovska served in the Air Force, then held the position of Deputy Commander for Personnel (modern analogue of “Political officer” in the Soviet Army); clerk, commanded the intelligence department and was directly involved in several intelligence operations.
Borysovska was even offered to be a sniper. But the girl refused: “As a military personnel, I understand perfectly well what it is... God forbid you will be captured - you will become one hundred percent “two hundred”.
The serviceman tried to live a civilian life and even worked as an HR manager for a year. But she could not stand it and returned to the barracks and the statute.
It happened that way. One day her friend offered to take the volunteer to the east of Ukraine. When the girl heard the “incoming” (so army slang is called explosions), she realized - this is her native element. She was soon drafted into the Armed Forces on the very day when ex-president Petro Poroshenko declared martial law.
The servicewoman says: russia does not need Kyiv, the capture of the capital is only for the sake of pathos. The occupiers do not need a piece of Donbas either. Their goal - is russian-speaking cities along the coastline, ie Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Kherson.
About Putin, Borysovska noted: the tyrants are not born - the people are always to blame, and Ukrainians are at war with the russian people.
After the victory, the servicewoman says she just wants to rest. She is also planning a family, three children, two of whom will be adopted, as well as an animal shelter and a cozy home.
