An independent UN international commission for investigation of violations in Ukraine will start working today and will work until June 16, reported by European Truth with reference to the UN Human Rights Council.

The members of the Commission plan to visit several cities in Ukraine to learn first-hand about possible human rights violations and oppressions and violations of international humanitarian law, as well as to meet with victims and witnesses of war crimes and internally displaced persons.

In particular, visits to Lviv, Kyiv, Kharkiv and Sumy are planned.

Meetings of UN commissioners with representatives of the Ukrainian government, civil society and agencies of the Organization on the situation in the country are also planned.

The President of the European Council Charles Michel said on June 6 during a meeting of the UN Security Council that by attacking Ukraine, russia attacked not only one country, it also attacked the values of the United Nations.

Michel also added that the world should learn about the sexual crimes of the russian military and they should not go unpunished.
