Twenty-two people have been injured in a russian rocket attack on Ternopil Region, the local defence council has said at a briefing.
The russians targeted military and civilian infrastructure in the town of Chortkiv at 21.46 local time. No arms were stored in the affected area.
Among the victims are seven women and a 12-year-old teenager. Most victims sustained medium-gravity injuries. These are people who reside in four buildings close to the site of the attack.
"There were four hits. Tentatively, all the rockets were launched from the Black Sea area. A military facility, as well as civilian ones, were partly ruined," the head of the Ternopil military administration, Volodymyr Trush, said.
Residents of the affected buildings will be relocated. There were no fatalities because residents mostly tool shelter during the attack.
A threat of a repeat rocket attack at around 01.00 did not materialize.
