In his evening video address, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that granting Ukraine candidate status would strengthen the entire European Union.

"What else needs to happen in Europe to make it clear to skeptics that the very fact of keeping Ukraine outside the European Union works against Europe? For example, everything is already obvious to the Russian occupiers. They say so when they torment our people that it is allegedly for the fact that Ukraine has gone to Europe. And why does Europe have skeptics then?" the president wondered.

Ukrainian defenders eliminated 100 occupiers and three enemy drones yesterday.

According to the General Staff, the enemy lost 11 more tanks. Read about other enemy losses here.

The General Staff also said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled the enemy's offensive in the area of Vrubivka and Mykolayivka and held back the assault near Vasylivka.

Efforts are underway to equip checkpoints in the border zone of Belarus and deploy additional means of electronic warfare.

Near Popasna, our defenders successfully stopped the enemy's onslaught and repelled the enemy's attacks near Vrubivka, Metyolkine, and in the direction of Mykolayivka. Russia continues assault operations in Severodonetsk and the Toshkivka area. The attack occurred on a civilian infrastructure facility with no weapons.

"We are working to clean the rubble and fix the damaged civilian property," he said.

The enemy shelled Kharkiv at night. In Kherson Region, there are concerns that russia may organize provocations on Russia Day. In Mykolaiv Region, the village of Parutyne came under attack, states the summary of regional military administration updates.

Russian special services are preparing provocations against residents of the temporarily occupied territories in Zaporizhzhya Region, said the mayor of Enerhodar, Dmytro Orlov, citing sources close to Ukrainian intelligence. He urged city residents not to attend mass events planned by the “ruscists” on 12 June.

Enerhodar marks its day on 12 June. Russia marks Russia Day also on 12 June, therefore Russian troops may hold events and force locals to participate in them.
