Germany has already transferred Mars II multiple rocket launchers to Ukraine, the head of the presidential office, Andriy Yermak, said on Telegram.

"Mars II multiple rocket launchers have already been transferred to Ukraine by our German allies," he said.

German Defence Minister Christine Lambrecht said that three such systems had been handed over, Yevropeyska Pravda reported, citing dpa.

Ukraine also received three self-propelled artillery systems from Berlin, and IRIS-T air defence systems are being prepared for dispatch. Three armoured recovery vehicles have also been handed over to the Ukrainians.

The German MARS II is a licensed copy of the American M270. They are intended for destroying the clusters of enemy manpower and equipment, artillery batteries, air defence, command posts and communication centres, as well as for remote mining of the area, according to Army-Inform.

The system consists of a launcher mounted on the tracked chassis of the US M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicle, unguided 240mm rockets, fire control equipment and a transport vehicle.
