North Korea announced its support for the illegal annexation of Zaporizhzhya, Kherson, Luhansk, and Donetsk Regions of Ukraine. The relevant statement of the DPRK Foreign Ministry is quoted by pro-Kremlin media.
Pyongyang stated that it "supports the position of the russian government to accept the regions as part of russia".
The DPRK capital called fake referendums, where people were forced to vote under blackmail and threats of weapons, "expression of will".
It is the only country that has expressed support for the Kremlin's attempt to "annex" sovereign territories of Ukraine to russia. None of these four regions is fully controlled by the russian army. Moreover, the defenders have been steadily liberating the settlements from the enemy, and have de-occupied some of them in the period between the announcement of the sham referendums and Putin's declaration of illegal annexation.
Ukraine broke off diplomatic relations with North Korea in July when Pyongyang supported the "independence" of the occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk Regions.
The DPRK is a country on the list of state sponsors of terrorism.
