The Ukrainian Air Force shot down 44 of the more than 50 missiles that Russia fired on the morning of 31 October.
The strikes were carried out from Tu-95, and Tu-160 aircraft with X-101 / X-555 missiles from the north of the Caspian Sea and from the Volgodonsk area (Rostov Region), the Air Force Command reports.
"An overall of 44 cruise missiles were destroyed by the Air Force, in the areas of responsibility of the Center Air Command - 18, South Air Command - 12, East Air Command - 9, West Air Command - 5," the statement reads.
Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhya were also hit. There were hits to buildings in Kyiv Region and power facilities in Kyiv, Cherkasy, Chernivtsi, and Kirovohrad regions. In Khmelnytskyy and Vinnytsya regions missile fragments fell on the infrastructure.
