The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has called on the international community to unable military cooperation between Russia and Iran, its spokesperson Oleh Nikolenko has said.
He was commenting on the Sky News report that Russia had handed over samples of Western weapons to Iran, which were allegedly intended as military assistance to Ukraine. Instead, Russia received kamikaze drones.
"All weapons crossing the Ukrainian border are under close control of the Government of Ukraine and our partners," Nikolenko said.
He pointed out that Ukraine "continues to reveal the facts of Tehran's transfer of Iranian weapons to Russia, which uses them for the war against Ukraine".
"Iran is also increasing the production of weapons that can be used against third countries in the Middle East. We must face the truth: military cooperation between Russia and Iran now threatens not only the security of Ukraine, but also peace and security in the world. It is critically important that the international community intensifies its efforts to neutralise destructive military cooperation between Russia and Iran," Nikolenko stressed.
Earlier, Ukrainian intelligence has found evidence that may indicate the delivery of attack drones from Iran to Russia during a full-scale war, and not before, as Tehran claims. Components of one of the downed Mohajer-6 UAVs were manufactured in February.
Russian National Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev recently arrived in Tehran, apparently to discuss a potential sale of Iranian ballistic missiles to Russia.
