France will hand over AMX-10 RC light tanks to Ukraine by the end of next week, French Defence Minister Sébastien Lecornu has said, BFMTV reports.
"These armoured vehicles will be delivered by the end of next week," the minister said.
Lecornu did not name the number of tanks to be delivered, explaining that he did not want to disclose "strategic information". He said that the training of the Ukrainian military with this equipment is coming to an end.
However, according to the minister, the delivery of main Leclerc tanks is not on the agenda. The minister also noted that France would increase the supply of Cesar self-propelled artillery systems.
The AMX-10 RC is a French armoured combat vehicle manufactured by GIAT Industries for reconnaissance purposes. It is also called a wheeled tank destroyer or even a light tank.
