The death toll from a Russian rocket attack that occurred on 2 March and destroyed part of a residential building in Zaporizhzhya has risen to 13 people, the main directorate of the State Emergency Service in Zaporizhzhya Region has said on Telegram.

"From under the rubble of the house, SES specialists unblocked 13 dead, including one eight-month-old child," the report says.

Utility services have removed more than 853 tonnes of rubble. Psychologists of the State Emergency Service provided assistance to 100 residents of the building and relatives of the victims. In the dark, two lighting towers were set up to illuminate the site of the rescue operations.

Since 2 March, 251 people have contacted the warm-up point set up by the rescuers. The mobile operational group of the State Emergency Service is coordinating the forces and means.

On the night of 2 March, Russian troops launched a missile attack on a residential building in Zaporizhzhya. Rescuers managed to save 11 people, four cats and a dog.
