Serhiy Cherevatyy, the spokesman for the Eastern UAF Group Command, commented on NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg's statement that Bakhmut would fall in the coming days, noting that the Alliance does not fully understand the situation in the town and the logic of the ongoing war, zn.ua reported.

"I would like to say that the last war with which NATO engaged was the war in the former Yugoslavia, which was much smaller in terms of the volume and use of troops, etc. So, they are more used to stabilisation, training or peacekeeping missions," Cherevatyy said during the telethon.

The spokesman noted that, as a result, it is difficult for the Alliance in general to understand the logic of the war that Russia is waging against Ukraine today.

"They approach this in a purely pragmatic way, with dry calculations, sometimes not realising that Ukrainians, having been in this war for a year, have developed much greater resilience and power of tactical decisions. So, I think NATO is studying this, and they need to continue to study it," Cherevatyy explained.

He believes such statements should be treated with respect, but, at the same time, an awareness that they do not fully understand the whole situation.

Recently, Army Commander Oleksandr Syrskyy said that every day gives time to prepare reserves and get ready for an offensive. In the battles for this fortress (Bakhmut - Ed.), the enemy is losing the most trained and capable part of its army, the Wagner assault troops.
