The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has reacted to the fact that the chairman of the executive committee of Belarus's Vitsebsk Region, Alyaksandr Subotin, signed a cooperation agreement with the authorities of the occupying administration of Crimea.
"The agreement on cooperation between Vitsebsk Region of Belarus and occupied Crimea is null and void, as it was concluded in violation of Ukrainian legislation," Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleh Nikolenko said on Facebook.
He added that the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry was initiating the procedure for imposing sanctions on Alyaksandr Subotin as a person who poses a threat to the national security of Ukraine. The Ukrainian Embassy in Minsk was also instructed to send a note of protest to the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.
