The ICEYE spacecraft, purchased for donations from Ukrainians by the Serhiy Prytula Foundation, helped to detect and destroy thousands of pieces of enemy equipment, the press service of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine reports.

"Ukraine's military intelligence started using the People's Satellite on 24 September 2022. Since then, the Security and Defence Forces of Ukraine have been receiving the necessary intelligence from space every day. During 5 months of using ICEYE, the DIU employees conducted space radar reconnaissance of almost 1000 areas of the aggressor state units' location in the temporarily occupied and other territories of interest to the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the statement said.

During this time, the spacecraft's capacity allowed the military to detect 360 tents in the locations of the Russian occupation army, as well as 7321 objects of enemy military and special equipment, including:

  • 45 aircraft;
  • 27 helicopters;
  • 6 Iskander operational-tactical missile systems;
  • 36 S300 air defence systems;
  • 12 Pantsyr S1 air defence systems;
  • 11 radar stations;
  • 10 pontoon crossings.

Thanks to the ICEYE capabilities, a significant part of this list has been destroyed and is reflected in the daily reports of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Employees of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine expressed gratitude to the entire Ukrainian society, which contributed to the fundraising for the spacecraft, to each volunteer who provides daily assistance to the defenders of Ukraine and to the Serhiy Prytula Charitable Foundation.
