Poland is ready to transfer its MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine as part of an international coalition, President Andrzej Duda has said, PAP reports.

"The remaining MiG-29s that we have in Poland and that are currently serving in our air force - we are ready to provide these aircraft, and I am sure that Ukraine will be ready to use them immediately," Duda said.

According to the Polish president, in the future, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will want to strive for NATO standards and will use F-16 fighters.

Earlier, Duda also called on Western countries to train Ukrainian pilots on F-16s. And members of the UK Parliament's defence committee proposed sending Typhoon fighters to NATO countries, which would give their warplanes to Ukraine in return.
