The second Patriot air defence system, handed over to Ukraine by the allies, is already in operation, Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk has said.

"They say there is a General Staff ban on taking selfies against the backdrop of equipment! Sorry, I couldn't resist!" Oleshchuk said in a photo post.

In addition, Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ihnat confirmed to Ukrayinska Pravda that the second division of the Patriot air defence system is already performing combat work in one of the areas identified by the military leadership.

Earlier, Ihnat confirmed that one Patriot air defence system has already been put on combat duty in Ukraine, while other air defence systems are still on their way.

According to Ihnat, the Patriot systems will help Ukraine in certain areas where the enemy is currently using guided bombs from SU-35 aircraft.
