Ukraine has impounded five Russian vessels transporting stolen Ukrainian grain, the Kyiv-run Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea has said on Telegram.
"At the request of the autonomy's prosecutor's office, five offending vessels involved in the transportation of looted Ukrainian grain through the occupied peninsula have been impounded," it said.
Undercriminal proceedings on violations of the procedure for entering and leaving the temporarily occupied territory (Part 2 of Article 332-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), it was established that the vessels Vera, Volgo-Don 5043, Volgo-Don 205, Volgo-Balt 188, Volgo-Balt 106, flying the flags of the occupying state, made systematic illegal calls to a closed commercial sea port on the peninsula.
They transported the stolen Ukrainian grain to third countries and used Crimea as a kind of "logistics hub" in the criminal scheme.
Russians are also removing grain from the occupied territories of Ukraine via Mariupol to Taganrog.
