Representatives of the defence sector and the security forces have sent a letter to parliament asking it to draft a new law on payments to the military. Consideration of the issue of refunding UAH 30,000 in additional payments will be postponed until at least the end of May. Instead, a working group of MPs, representatives of the government and the General Staff of the Armed Forces will be formed in parliament to develop a new bill, the head of the Servant of the People faction, Davyd Arakhamiya, has said on Telegram.

He said that he had received a letter from the security forces with their vision of remuneration for personnel.

According to him, the military says that:

· the recently voted amendment does not address issues related to monetary remuneration, in particular, for conscripts and cadets

· its text does not take into account the peculiarities of service in different regions and the performance of tasks of varying degrees of complexity

· the remuneration system should be fair and provided with budgetary funding, and not just exist on paper

· populism in this matter can have extremely negative consequences and cause disappointment.

The letter was signed by Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Valeriy Zaluzhnyy, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Serhiy Shaptala, the head of the State Border Service, Serhiy Deyneko, National Guard Commander Yuriy Lebed, and Security Service of Ukraine chief Vasyl Malyuk.
