Ukrainian troops have repelled numerous attacks in the Lyman sector over the past few days. The Russians suffered losses and Ukrainian troops captured 10 Russian soldiers, Military Media Center quoted the Commander of the Eastern Group of Forces, Col-Gen Oleksandr Syrskyy, as saying. Yesterday he visited several areas in the combat zone.

Intense fighting continues in the Bakhmut sector. Russians tried to break through the defences in several directions with numerous attacks. However, thanks to the resilience and courage of the defenders of Bakhmut, Russia's attempts have failed.

"The enemy is making every effort to advance and will not hesitate to do so. Despite significant losses, new assault groups of Wagner, fighters from other private companies and paratroopers are constantly rushing into the battle. However, the enemy fails to take control of the city. The situation is quite complicated. At the same time, in some parts of the city, the enemy was counterattacked by our units and abandoned some positions," Syrskyy said.

According to the General Staff, Russia continues to focus its main efforts on conducting offensive operations in the Bakhmut, Avdiyivka and Maryinka sectors. Ukrainian defence forces repelled over 36 Russian attacks in the above-mentioned areas over the last day. Bakhmut and Maryinka remain the epicentre of hostilities, and our defenders are holding steadfast.
