Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, has started his previously announced visit to Zaporizhzhya NPP, the Energoatom Telegram channel has said.
"IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi has started a visit to the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhya NPP," it reported.
Grossi is expected to inspect the plant after the breach of the Kakhovka dam last week.
Grossi arrived on a working visit to Ukraine on 13 June to meet President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. At a briefing, the IAEA chief said he wanted to personally discuss with the ZNPP "management" the measures being taken to prevent an environmental disaster.
Last week, Zelenskyy had a telephone conversation with Grossi. They discussed the large-scale consequences of Russia's terrorist attack on the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station. After the talks, the IAEA chief said he would lead the Agency's mission rotation at the Zaporizhzhya NPP.
In late May, Grossi presented an updated security plan for ZNPP.
