Yesterday was made an attempt to kill Deputy Head of the State Tax Service of Ukraine Yevhen Sokur.
This was reported on Telegram by Danylo Hetmantsev, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy.
"Yes, yesterday at 7:50 a.m. there was an attempt to kill Deputy Head of the State Tax Service of Ukraine Yevhen Sokur. The attack took place in the city centre. The contractors were “schemers” who lost their "business" and crossed the line. Yevhen was saved by the coordinated actions of the Criminal Investigation Department. I bow low to the professionals from the Criminal Investigation Department of the National Police," Hetmantsev said.
He added that the performers have been detained and are testifying against the contractors.
"If you suddenly wanted to know what the tax service is opposing and fighting every day - these thieves: converters, corrupt officials - clans that have been sucking the blood of our country for more than 30 years. And whose backbone we are breaking. Every day," Hetmantsev said.
According to the information on the website of the State Tax Service, Yevhen Sokur is the acting deputy head of the State Tax Service and has the 6th rank of civil servant. In June, it was reported that Yevhen Sokur represented the areas of digitalisation of the State Tax Service.
In June, journalists of the Hroshi program devoted an episode to Yevhen Sokur. According to their information, Sokur participated in the election for the position of the head of the Department of Economic Analysis, but did not succeed. In April 2022, Marin Baryakhtar won the selection, but three days later she resigned from the post. Then Yevhen Sokur was announced as the winner. Despite his lack of experience, on 7 May, 2022, he was appointed acting head of the State Tax Service.
