A Ukrainian maritime drone has damaged a small Russian Samum missile ship in Crimea, The Guardian reports, citing sources in Ukrainian intelligence.

The drone attacked the entrance to the temporarily occupied Sevastopol Bay on 14 September. After the attack, the enemy vessel had to be towed away for repairs.

Russia’s defence ministry said in a statement on Thursday that it repelled an attack on the Samum in the Black Sea.

The Ukrainian Defence Forces had attacked two enemy patrol ships of the Vasiliy Bykov type on the morning of 14 September. Subsequently, Deputy Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology Mykhailo Fedorov posted a video on his Telegram channel showing the moment of the attack on the Russian fleet.

Prior to that, the DIU and the Navy conducted a special operation near Yevpatoriya, where the Triumph air defence system worth $1.2bn was destroyed, and drones and Neptune missiles were used to effectively target.

In addition, a large landing ship and a submarine carrying cruise missiles were destroyed in Crimea as a result of an attack by missiles and surface drones.
