New details of today's attack on the command post of the Russian Black Sea Fleet near Sevastopol have emerged.
According to LB.ua's sources in the Security Service, the enemy military base was destroyed by missiles that hit the target.
The operation was conducted jointly by the SBU, the Air Force and the Navy.
The Russian generals have designated the base near Sevastopol as their backup command post to avoid being reached at their main location.
The enemy target was struck after the SBU verified that the military unit was indeed occupied by Russian naval commanders.
Sources say that not only enemy manpower but also expensive military systems that were on the base have been destroyed.
The SBU promises that the hits on Crimea will continue.
First, the Ukrainian Armed Forces StratCom reported that the attack took place on the morning of 20 September. The attack took place near Verkhnyosadove near the temporarily occupied Sevastopol.
Earlier it was reported that explosions were heard in the occupied Crimea near the Belbek military airfield. Also, air defence systems were reported near the village of Chornomorske. Vehicular traffic on the Crimean bridge built by the occupiers was blocked.
The other day, the Atesh guerrilla movement said that the Russians were taking personnel out of the barracks of the diving center of their fleet in Sevastopol. This is against the backdrop of successful attacks by Ukrainian forces on enemy targets in Crimea. Earlier, a Ukrainian maritime drone damaged a small Russian Samum missile ship. Prior to that, the Ukrainian Defence Forces attacked two enemy patrol ships of the Vasily Bykov type. The DIU and the Navy also conducted a special operation near Yevpatoriya, where a $1.2bn Triumph air defence system was destroyed.
Earlier, an attack by missiles and surface drones destroyed an enemy large landing ship and a cruise missile submarine.
