Israel's military cabinet must now decide whether or not the Defence Forces will launch a ground operation into the Gaza Strip. At the same time, Israel's ultimate goal is to get to any point where terrorist cells are currently located, IDF spokesperson Masha Michelson has said in an exclusive commentary to LB.ua.

"The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) are currently amassing troops near the border with Gaza. We have called up reservists so that we are ready to move further (into the Gaza Strip - LB.ua). The IDF provided the military cabinet with all possible scenarios that could be applied in the Strip from a military point of view," she said.

At the same time, she noted that the IDF are currently reinforcing the entire border to make sure that no terrorists enter Israel.

Recently, LB.ua's sources in the Israeli Ministry of Defence reported that the country is gathering four divisions of military personnel to launch a ground operation in the Gaza Strip.

Currently, 31 battalions of regular forces are already there.
