German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius has confirmed Germany's plans to double military aid to Ukraine in 2024, Ukrinform reports with reference to the ARD TV channel.
According to the minister, the decision to double the aid was made because the Armed Forces are forced to shift to defence due to a lack of resources. At the same time, the decision is not related to the fact that the United States is reducing military assistance to Ukraine.
Pistorius also noted that the decision to increase aid is an important signal that Germany will not leave Ukraine alone, especially now that part of the world's attention is focused on Israel. However, Ukraine must continue its fighting.
