Ukraine and the war between Israel and Hamas will be the main topics at the EU Foreign Ministers' Summit in Brussels today. One of the questions will be whether the EU will be able to fulfil its promise to supply Ukrainians with ammunition, The Guardian writes.
On the sidelines of the summit, German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock said that the Russian president is rejoicing in view of the dramatic situation worldwide. She noted that despite the severe crisis in the Middle East, it is important to face up geopolitical challenges "on the ground".
"We will not only continue our support for Ukraine, we will continue to expand and increase it, especially on the part of the Federal Republic of Germany, not only with a view to the winter defence for the coming weeks and months, when it is clear that the Russian president will once again exploit the needs of the people in the cold winter," she said.
The European Council website reported that during the meeting, the foreign ministers would discuss Russia's aggression against Ukraine and the latest developments in Armenia and Azerbaijan.
"The Council will then exchange views on the situation in Israel and the region, and the foreign policy dimension of economic security," the statement said.
