Estonian PM Kaja Kallas said that for the next four years, the country will continue to provide Kyiv with military assistance in the amount of 0.25% of Estonia's GDP, ERR reports.

"Estonia's contribution to Ukraine's victory will be 0.25% of GDP over the next four years. If each country contributes 0.25%, this is what Ukraine needs to win this war," Kallas said after a regular meeting of the National Defence Council.

She called on European, North American and other countries to follow suit.

The head of the Estonian government added that since 2022, Estonia has provided Ukraine with military assistance worth almost €500mn.

"This is also necessary to ensure our security," the Prime Minister explained.

According to Kallas, in the coming years, Estonia will also allocate €14mn a year for joint actions to restore Ukraine and related solutions.

Kallas noted that many people are used to war, and in democratic countries, public opinion slows down decision-making. However, according to the Prime Minister, it is necessary to conduct consistent explanatory work in different countries on why it is important to support Ukraine.
