At night, Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine with 35 Shahed-136/131 attack drones, General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has reported.
Air defence forces and equipment destroyed 15 Russian drones.
During the attack in Kyiv Region, explosions were heard - air defence forces were working, KCMA reported.
The Air Force Command clarified that the Russians launched drones from three directions: Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Kursk (Russia) and Chauda (Crimea), and also fired two S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles at Donetsk Region.
"The forces and means of the Air Force, in cooperation with the air defence of the Ukrainian Defence Forces, destroyed 15 enemy UAVs within Mykolayiv, Sumy, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Kherson and Kyiv Regions," the statement said.
Russians sent some of the drones to the frontline areas in an attempt to hit the fuel and energy sector infrastructure, civilian and military facilities near the front line and the state border.
Aviation, anti-aircraft missile units and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defence Forces were engaged to repel the air attack.
