President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that only 30% of the 1 million shells promised by the European Union have been delivered.
He said this during a joint press conference with Bulgarian Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov in Kyiv, Radio Liberty reports.
"As for Europe and the percentage you mentioned, this is not entirely true. Of the million shells that the European Union promised us, not 50% came, but 30%. Unfortunately," Zelenskyy said, answering a question about delays in half of the Western aid.
The day before, Defence Minister Rustem Umerov told the forum "Ukraine. The Year 2024" forum that half of the support provided by Western countries does not arrive on time, which leads to the loss of military personnel and territory.
On 24 February, after a meeting with EU diplomat Josep Borrell, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that the EU would deliver a new batch of artillery shells to Ukraine by the end of March.
