President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacted to the Russian attack on a residential area in Kharkiv. He noted that at least 19 civilians, including children, were wounded in the shelling.
Zelenskyy said this in his evening address: "Kharkiv. Russian terror against the city is becoming particularly vile. Attempts to drive more than a million people into a blackout, constant attacks by missiles and Shaheds. Now - air bombs. Just on an ordinary street, on houses, schools, ordinary civilian infrastructure. At the moment, we know about one dead person. My condolences to the family and friends."
According to him, at least 19 people were wounded, including children. Among them are a girl born in 2022 and a boy born in 2023.
"All the victims are being provided with the necessary assistance. All services are working at the site of the hit, and I am grateful to everyone who is saving normal life for Kharkiv day after day," he added.
He stressed that "strengthening Ukraine's air defence and accelerating the delivery of F-16s to Ukraine are vital tasks. There is no rational explanation for why the Patriots, which are plentiful in the world, still do not cover the skies of Kharkiv and our other cities and communities suffering from Russian terrorists. Every day we work to provide more protection for the lives of our people, our Ukraine," the president noted.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Russian army struck Kharkiv again. As of 6 p.m., 18 people were reported wounded. A number of high-rise buildings, medical facilities, cars, a school, a kindergarten and other civilian infrastructure were damaged. Tentatively, for the first time in two years, Russia fired two D-30 UMPBs glide bombs.
