President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a telephone conversation with US President Joe Biden, during which the leaders discussed the supply of weapons to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Biden assured Zelenskyy that as soon as the Senate approves the law on US military assistance, he will sign the document.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on his conversation with the US leader on Telegram.

"Had a phone conversation with US President Joe Biden following the vote in the House of Representatives. The President assured that if approved by the Senate, he would immediately sign the law. I am grateful to Joe Biden for his unwavering support for Ukraine and for true global leadership," the statement said.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted the bipartisan support and the personal role of Speaker Mike Johnson and Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries in voting for the bill.

"Another decision of the House of Representatives - to allow the confiscation of Russian assets - sends a powerful signal to all our partners," the President added.

The Head of State told President Biden about the Russian air terror with thousands of missiles, drones and bombs. In particular, about the strike on the Kharkiv TV tower just a few minutes before the conversation. This is Russia's clear intention to make the city uninhabitable.

"We discussed the first defence aid package after the adoption of the law. I have the President's assurances that it will be fast and powerful and will strengthen our anti-aircraft, long-range and artillery capabilities," Zelenskyy added.

The heads of state also discussed the signing of a bilateral security agreement and preparations for the upcoming Peace Summit.
