Ukraine has managed to return another family from the temporarily occupied community of Kherson Region. During the occupation, Russians threatened parents to take their children away because they refused to attend so-called Russian schools.
This was reported by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Prokudin.
"The occupiers threatened the family that they would deprive them of parental care and take away a 12-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl for refusing to attend so-called Russian educational institutions. The parents did everything they could to ensure that their children attended a Ukrainian school. Therefore, they moved to the territory controlled by Ukraine," Prokudin said in a statement.
Social services, doctors and psychologists are currently working with the adults and children.
"I am grateful to the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets for this return. You and your team have done a tremendous job to bring this family back to Ukraine," commented the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.
