Russian high-speed patrol boat of Project 12150 "Mangust" destroyed

On 6 May, Ukrainian reconnaissance men in Crimea destroyed a Project 12150 Mangust high-speed patrol boat.

According to the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, a DIU unit destroyed an enemy target using a Magura V5 maritime strike drone.

"Boats of this class are used by the enemy fleet and special services as multi-purpose high-speed vessels for patrolling the waters, combating saboteurs, and search and rescue operations," the intelligence noted.

According to the DIU, such boats have been manufactured since 2000. The boat is up to 20 metres long and five metres wide. The maximum speed it can reach is up to 50 knots. "The modified versions of the speedboats are equipped with remote-controlled combat modules with the main standard weapon - a 14.5 mm machine gun," the intelligence added.

In addition, the Russians have two AGS-17 automatic grenade launchers, a DP-64 hand-held anti-subversive grenade launcher and two Igla or Verba man-portable air defence systems on board the Mangusta, the DIU said.
