Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk and President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola visited one of the CHP plants destroyed by Russians and the sites of hits in Kyiv.
Stefanchuk said this in a comment to LB.ua during the Second International Summit of Cities and Regions.
"In the morning, we visited one of the CHP plants that was destroyed by the Russian Federation. After that, we went and showed the places in Kyiv where there were hits from the wreckage of the Russian Zircon. It is very important that on Europe Day, the President of the European Parliament, who has always supported Ukraine from the first day of the full-scale invasion, demonstrated her unity and solidarity. And today she is here on an official visit," the speaker noted.
According to him, the European partners will support Ukraine in rebuilding this CHP plant and strengthening energy security due to the constant threat of aggressor attacks on infrastructure.
"It's important that she (Ed.: Roberta Matsola) was very detailed about all this. She raised the issue of assistance to Ukraine that could be provided by the European Parliament and its member states... Undoubtedly, there will be such assistance. For example, Ms Matsola's "Generator of Hope" is designed to provide such support to Ukraine so that the country can survive the previous winter. And to help us prepare for the next winter. In addition, we discussed a lot of issues regarding the possibility of replacing the destroyed parts of Ukrainian energy and infrastructure facilities," the Speaker of the Parliament said.
Metsola also promised that she would do everything possible to "make all the necessary arrangements with the European Union countries to promptly replace the destroyed energy centres of Ukraine".
As reported, Metsola came to Ukraine on a visit on Europe Day.
