Yesterday, on 8 May, during the morning shelling of critical infrastructure, hydropower facilities were also heavily damaged. As a result, two hydroelectric power plants are currently out of operation.

This was reported by the press service of Ukrhydroenergo.

"Russia continues to massively attack and destroy Ukraine's energy infrastructure, inflicting devastating targeted strikes. As of today, the entire hydropower generation system has suffered devastating damage. The destroyed equipment requires considerable efforts to repair, restore and significant financial resources," the statement said.

"The support, assistance and decisive action of the international community is now more important than ever.
